Marshals play key role
Marshals play key role
26th February 2018
Marshals have played a crucial part in the history of Silverstone and have been at Silverstone since the very first race.
In the 1950s, marshals had very little training and wore white coats, their main challenge was to keep crowds off the track.
Marshals are now highly trained and each performs a specific role, including:-
- Flag marshals who use coloured flags to signal drivers and riders
- Pit lane marshals who keep the pit lane running smoothly
- Incident officers who are in charge of a small team that deal with anything that happens on track.
